Colorful market activity

Immerse yourself in the cheerful hustle and bustle of the many markets that take place on the island every day. Admire the handicrafts, antiques or the culinary wealth that the island has to offer, which is presented in all its colorful variety at the market stalls. The weekly market in Santanyi (Wednesdays and Saturdays) or the flea market in Consell (Sundays) are particularly recommended. But a visit to the Mercat de L'Olivar and the Mercat de Pere Garau market hall - both in Palma - is also an absolute must.

Shopping in Palma

Palma's shopping world is hard to beat in terms of variety. In addition to all the international brands and luxury labels, it is above all the small, owner-operated shops with their individual offerings that make shopping here so exciting. Stroll through the alleys, let yourself drift and enjoy one of the most beautiful and largest preserved old towns in Europe. And in between: enjoyment

Beach clubs and beach bars

Here, too, the island shows a broad repertoire. From the beach club with a 5-star pampering program, VIP area and massages to the casual beach bar with hot rhythms, cool drinks and a bit of Ibiza feeling. Enjoy your day in the luxurious Mhares Seaclub in Llucmajor, in the stylish Puro Beach near Palma or in the hip Nikki Beach in Magaluf. The Ponderosa Beach Club in Can Picafort, the Roxy Beach in Port Portals or the Chiringuito in the wonderful Cala Sa Nau are particularly casual.

Fantastic golf courses

In addition to cycling and water sports, golfing is one of the most popular leisure activities. With 24 golf courses, Mallorca offers an impressive choice. With regard to the playful challenges, the offer is extremely diverse. It includes parkland courses, wooded, hilly courses, courses with sea views for beginners and pros. One of our favorites is certainly Vall d'Or with wonderful fairways and a terrace with a fantastic view.

Wineries

In Mallorca you will find a large selection of excellent wines. But you should also try other drinks. Here are some of our recommendations:

Biniagual   BINIGRAU   4 kilos   Macia Batle   Bodega Ribas   Tianna Negre   Castell Miquel   Anima Negra

Wines from the smallest wineries in Mallorca can be found here: Vino de la Isla

In Santanyi, a recommendable bodega with a very good selection has also opened in 2021: DISMAVI Santanyí

If you like to enjoy the typical Hierbas you should definitely ask for the house Hierbas at Sa Botiga .

The "Carajillo" is often drunk "con Amazona " in Mallorca. It goes perfectly together. If you like gin, Caraboc is a classic. The Suau 25 is a real treat for the palate.

With landscapes to fall in love with, dramatic rocky bays with crystal-clear water, romantic mountain villages, museums in old country estates and quaint places to stop off everywhere. Several books with tips are available. Current information is always available in the Mallorca Magazine of the Mallorca newspaper or the island radio . All this and more "on your doorstep".

Culture and history

Mallorca's sights and cultural treasures enrich every stay on the island. Important buildings such as the Cathedral of Palma, the Charterhouse of Valldemossa or the Castell de Bellver are the result of an eventful 6,000-year-old history. In addition, countless museums and galleries with works by well-known artists and newcomers await art lovers from all over the world. Tips: The Nit de l'Art in Palma (September), the Fundation Miro with the artist's pristine studio, Sa Bassa Blanca (Alcudia)
